Paramount Leader (Gold Plated) Tenor Banjo
Custom made Paramount Leader 19 fret tenor banjo from the famous William Lange Banjo Company, New York. The matching neck & rim serial numbers SN: **** make the build date 1927. This is the first Paramount Leader I have ever seen with both carved heel and rear headstock. It is almost identical to the Style F model including the gold plating through in great condition.
Made from quality Brazilian rosewood the resonator is decorated 2 concentric circles and centre strip. The resonator side walls have double wood purfling strips along each edge. The 5 piece Brazilian rosewood / maple neck has a beautifully carved heel with checkerboard trim under the bound Brazilian rosewood fretboard. Headstock overlay features logo, model and floral inlays, Leader style inlay pattern up the fretboard, 19 frets, newly fitted 11- 2/8″″ Remo white smooth top head, 24 brackets, round hole flange, raised archtop tone ring, Paramount swivel lock tailpiece and flat bar armrest.
The banjo has been very well cared for throughout its lifetime as seen from the photos, straight neck and powerful sweet sustain from the archtop tonering. The frets are all good, straight neck and low action which is very easy to play up the fretboard. Comes with hard shell case in good condition.
