Vintage Weymann 19 fret tenor banjo built in1927 by H.A. Weymann & Son, Philadelphia. This model is the first line of the Orchestra model featuring the megaphonic rim and concaved spring loaded resonator which gives them their unique sound. Three piece mahogany neck with mother of pearl name on headstock and decal Weymann sticker still intact to the rear. Original geared Weymann tuners, straight ebony neck with MOP dot position markers. The megaphonic rim is also build with mahogany as is the resonator. Original weyman tension tailpiece and mahogany armrest. Fitted with new Remo white smooth top head, grover maple/ebony bridge and new strings. The nickel plating is in good shape with only a little wear through to brass on the tension hoop. Lacquer finish through is in really nice condition. Comes with original hardshell case with blue fur lining and leather reinforced handle. A fine sounding banjo set up for trad playing, you should really give this one a tryout, you’ll love it.
