SilverBell Tenor Banjo

The Bacon and Day company are universally known for their craftsmanship and exceptional build quality of prewar tenor banjos. The Silver Bells in particular have exceptional volume and cutting power and very much sought after by the Irish banjoist. I think this banjo can speak for itself which is why I have included so many photos. The plating had worn back to brass so I had the flange, tension hoop and tail piece sent off to my plating company in England and they did an incredible job with the nickel plating. The neck is perfectly straight and action is very low, and plays in tonal perfection up the fret length. All hooks and nuts are nickel plated and there is no rust evident anywhere on the banjo. The oettinger finger style tail piece screws all do their job, by tensioning downward pressure, and for fine tuning also. Fitted with new nickel strings 12,17,28,38 and white smooth top Remo head.
