OME Mogul Gold Plated Tenor Banjo
American made OME Mogul 19 fret gold plated tenor banjo, possibly constructed around late 80’s or early 90’s. The OME banjo factory was set up in Boulder, Colorado and founded by Chuck Ogsbury. The Mogul model is considered one of OME’s most ornate and highest‑spec four‑string banjos, comparable in ambition to classic Gibson or Paramount top‑grade tenors.
Beautiful figured honey stained maple neck and resonator. It has exceptional volume, resonance, and response, and offers optimum balance between treble and bass, sustain and decay. These banjos feature a 9/16″ maple rim with figured maple veneer, 24 individual rim brackets, the OME 11″ Silverspun bell bronze tone ring, and a Standard style 1-5/8″ deep resonator with fancy gold plated flange. The ebony fretboard has the Fender style mother of pearl block position markers. Perfect frets with nice easy low action and fitted with OME Oettinger tailpiece. Comes with fitted plush black fur lined case in excellent condition, these cases are made in Canada.
