Joe Foley Octave Mandolin

A beautiful sounding work of art from renowned Irish Luthier Joe Foley of Dublin made in 2014.  Tight grained Alpine spruce top and 2 piece Indian rosewood back & sides with rope seam (see pics). Bound top and bottom in maple with rope purfling on the top, with a black/white/black – mahogany – black/white /black  rosette around the sound hole. 3 piece mahogany/maple/mahogany neck/peghead with distinctive ‘triangle and diamond’ crown.  This octave mandolin has a 21 inch scale, nut width 1 3/8”.  Nice low action, this octave is loud, and amazingly resonant, deep lows and bell like highs.

The condition of this instrument is immaculate and a credit to it’s current owner. The individual geared tuners are made by Gotoh. Comes with heavy duty  case, in excellent condition, with crimsom crushed velvet lining.
