Gibson Mastertone Tenor Banjo

Early 1920’s Gibson Mastertone 19 fret tenor banjo with 1970’s made Maya deluxe original pot assembly. As with a good majority of orphaned Gibson necks this particular marriage of the two has worked out very well. The assembly was completed by an English luthier and I did the final setups. So although not a collectors banjo but more a players banjo, ideal upgrade from starter model and perfect for fitting a fishman pickup to gig with.

About the banjo

The original Gibson neck is in good shape, has had some refinishing, the frets are good and neck is straight with low action. The tuners have been upgraded with quality 5 star planet type. The pot assembly has the sunburst finish with no stratches or damage. Flat head tone ring, clamshell tailpiece, Gibson style armrest. All metal work is highly polished in chrome in excellent condition as seen from the photos. Recently fitted with new clear head and new strings. Comes with a hardshell case. The banjo is easy to play and has great volume and sustain.
