Paramount Leader 17 fret tenor banjo from the famous William Lange Banjo Company, New York. The matching neck & rim serial numbers SN: 3633 make the build date 1924, so its 101 years old! Made from quality Brazilian rosewood the resonator is decorated with maple/pearwood centre stripe and outer concentric circle rings, 5 piece Brazilian rosewood / maple neck, with checkerboard trim under the bound Brazilian rosewood fretboard. Headstock overlay features logo, model and floral inlays, Leader style inlay pattern up the fretboard, 17 frets, newly fitted 11- 2/16″ Remo renaissance head, 24 brackets, round hole flange, raised archtop tone ring, Paramount swivel lock tailpiece, flat bar armrest, solid brass page tuners (the indestructible preferred type). Comes with new short scale tan leatherette hard shell case in with red fur lining. The banjo has been very well cared for throughout its lifetime as seen from the photos, straight neck and powerful sweet sustain from the archtop tonering. The frets are all good, straight neck and low action which is very easy to play up the fretboard. The neck is as sleek as a fiddle neck so would definately suit a fiddle player.
