Levin Tenor Banjo
I’ve never actually owned or played a Levin tenor banjo until now and I have to say I’m very impressed. The Levin Company started up in Sweden around the early 1900’s and produced tenor, plectrum, 5 string and open back banjos. They also built mandolins and guitars to very high spec. This is a solid, feels good to play banjo that reminds me so much of a Gibson or early Epiphone. Maple 3 piece neck with centre ebony strip, rosewood fretboard with diamond pearl position markers. Grover geared tuners all working perfectly and Levin brand on headstock.
Laminated maple rim housing the Levin archtop tone ring, renaissance head, Grover bridge and original Kershner tailpiece and fitted armrest. My favourite feature is the cast flange which angles to the resonator. The dark stained resonator has white binding to the sides. Comes with the original vintage case in very good condition.
