1930 Bacon & Day Senorita with Rickard Silver Bell Tone Ring
Here we have a 1930 Bacon & Day Senorita Tenor Master Silver Bell. Its the first one I’ve come across and what is special about this one is it has recently been fitted with a Rickard Silver Bell tone ring. The setup work was carried out by Edinburgh Luthier, Jock Westwater, and this man knows how to setup tone rings. The sound this banjo delivers is very unique, as with all B&D banjos they all have the same rims which to my knowledge is the basis of the sound delivery. About the banjo The banjo construction is mostly laminated in celluloid/pearloid with various engravings throughout. The head stock bears the name plate B&D Senorita Tenor Master Silver Bell, the neck finish is in gloss black. 19 frets, in good condition and straight neck with pearloid bond fretboard and engraved position markers and geared tuners. The rim has a nickel band around the outside similar to Vega tubaphones, hooks and nuts in good condition and kershner tail piece. The back of the resonator is finished in sunburst style pearloid with nickel plated name plate and features the tulip flange plate. A new clear head has been installed to showcase the Rickard tonering and new bridge and strings. Comes with a hardshell case For Sale
